Ning Liu

Background

Dr Ning Liu is currently a senior lecturer in nanophysics at the Department of Physics at the University of Limerick. She received her B.S. degree in Physics from the Peking University, China in 1999 and a Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of California at Irvine in 2005. Prior to joining the University of Limerick in 2013, she worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the UK, Canada, China, and Ireland. She has specialties in scanning probe microscopy and ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy. Her current research interests focus on nanophotonics, plasmonics and light emitting diodes. She has published 49 journal articles, including papers in Nature nanotechnology, Nature chemistry, Nature Materials, Light: Science & Applications, Physical Review Letters, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, ACS Photonics etc.
