Prof Walker holds the Bernal Chair in Pharmaceutical Powder Engineering at UL and is a Visiting Research Professor at QUB. His interersts are in pharmaceutical engineering, process engineering and mathematical aspects for materials processing.
He has been awarded >€26,000,000 as Principal Investigator on >35 research projects on process engineering and advanced manufacturing from EU H2020, UK government, EPSRC, Irish Government, UK Charities and Industrial sources. His research team currently consists of 22 Post-docs and 12 research students focusing on engineering acepcts of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
