Dr Demetra Hadjiloizi is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher within the VARICOMP group at the University of Limerick. She received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Patras, Greece, where she also received her Master’s and PhD Degree in Applied Mathematics. She has worked as a Research Fellow at the Research Unit for Nanostructure Materials Systems of the Cyprus University of Technology and held a position as Adjunct Lecturer at the Cyprus University of Technology and Frederick University. Her work focuses on the development of multiscale models for the analysis and design of advanced composite and smart composite structures. Her research activities span a broad range of geometry including thin-walled plates and shells, as well as 3D reinforced composite structures. Pertinent applications include sensors, actuators, and advanced aerospace structures. She has published more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and several conferences publications.
